So...you think you want to know me? Well, you'll soon be questioning that notion. They
all say the best place to begin is at the beginning. I was born Michael John Bartley
Barrett on August 15th, 1986. I go most usually by the name, Mick. For those of us incapable of simple math, that makes me twenty (21). I was born to Joseph Michael Barrett and Tracy Ann O'Malley. If the last names don't give it away, I'm almost pure bred Irish dirt and goddamn proud of it.

My physical description? Well, I'm about 5'8" and weigh about 140 lbs. I have short
brown hair (that is usually covered by a hat) and blue eyes. I have scars on my hands
from a rare skin disorder I inherited from my father. I have two tattoos. A shamrock over my heart on my chest and a celtic high cross on my left shoulder. I don't like to judge my own personality, but I will say a few things about myself. I like to listen to what people have to say, and I love to have intelligent conversations; but I can get stupid just like the rest of them. I have a very "Denis Leary" - like sense of humor. I like anything Irish, angry and full of swearing and sarcasm.

Though I'm neither racist, ethnocentric, xenophobic or homophobic, I have a tendency to use ethnic slurs and politically incorrect language.

As it comes to interests, all of mine are basically listed below, but the ones that mean most to me are simply poker and pool. I know that seems a little lowball, but all through highschool, all I did was shoot pool. That doesn't mean I am any good, but I do enjoy going to the pool hall with my friends. My passion, however, is poker. Though I may have started playing during the "hype" I quickly became a student of the game. I've been playing for three years. I am a no limt hold'em and stud high/low split specialist.

I've been an atheist most of my life. I tried to rembrace my faith with no success after my Grandmother's death in 2003. Her death is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to come to terms with. Also, the break up with my last girlfriend, death of my grandfather and the two dogs I grew up with all within a few months sent me into a spiraling depression betweeen March and Novemeber of 2004. Between February and June of 2004, I had a livejournal known as

mandisirishguy3, where you can read many entries of my earlier self. From June '04 to October of 2005, I had the journal

irishrounder21. Still very much in depression, you can see the evolution of my mind, soul and mind and my eventual healing over time. Between February 2005 to July 2007, I dated Kristin, which ended very messily. She was a lovely girl but we had our problems, and in the end we both changed. At one time, I was an asshole to her. In the end, she had changed from a sweet and caring girl to a manipulative and jaded young woman.

My last words to you about myself are this: Don't try to figure me out. You won't be able to. I've spent my entire life figuring people out. What people say and do speak volumes to me. Hell, I make my living on knowing what goes through people's minds. Knowing how I get inside people's minds makes me adverse to people doing it to me. Though I do not lie, I will decieve you. I'll keep you from being ever able to predict me, or understand me, and that is one reason why I will never be able to be as close to people as I can be.
